I had believed that magic held no more surprises for me. For three years, I had studied its paths, learned to command the elements and move the moon with sheer willpower. But when Liana summoned me to her chamber that evening, something inside me cracked open. The room was the same one I had entered countless times—the shelves with crystals, the scent of dried herbs, the flickering candlelight. But the air was heavier, more charged, as if invisible fingers were gliding over my skin. And Liana… her gaze—that amber glow—pierced deeper than any spell she had ever taught me.

The Preparation
“Sit,” she said. Her voice was no longer that of the instructing mistress. It sounded deeper, more melting, like resin slowly dripping from a wound. She pointed to the rug before her altar, and I settled down, feeling the cool, coarse fabric under my thighs, the weight of my own body, which suddenly felt heavy and clumsy. She turned her back to me. I stared at the line of her spine, visible beneath the dark green robe, at her narrow hips swaying with every movement. My throat was dry. I had learned to control my thoughts, to tame them like wild horses—but in that moment, they galloped away, unbridled and hot.
“Tonight is the night of the waxing moon,” she said without turning around. Her fingers glided over the shelves, selecting crystals, herbs, candles. “A binding ritual. You will feel the energy flow through you, like a second bloodstream. Let yourself fall, Finn.” My name in her mouth was a spell that shook me to the core. I nodded, though she couldn’t see it.
She placed a bowl of water between us, let a rock crystal slide into it. Then she lit three candles—red, black, white—and arranged them in a triangle around us. The incense smoke curled around her wrists as she sat down across from me. Her knees almost touched mine. I felt the warmth radiating from her, the scent of lavender and something smoky that numbed my senses.
“Close your eyes,” she whispered. “Breathe deeply. Imagine the magic rising from the earth, through your spine, into your heart.”
I obeyed. But behind my eyelids, there was no ground, no rising energy. Only the image of her kneeling before me, the way her robe fell over her shoulders. My heart raced, and the heat emanating from her was more tangible than any spell. Her voice penetrated the darkness, soft and insistent.
“Do you feel it?” she asked. “That wave moving through the room?”
Yes. But it wasn’t the magic. It was her breath brushing my neck, the way she drew closer without moving. I opened my eyes. She stared at me, her iris glowing in a deep amber that swallowed me. For a moment, I forgot to breathe.
The Touch
“What do you see?” she breathed.
“You,” I said. “Only you.” Nothing else existed. The room, the candles, the altar—all blurred. Only she was sharp, every line of her face, every strand of hair that had escaped her bun.
A smile played on her lips. Then she reached into the bowl, let the water run over her fingers before taking my hand. Her skin was cool, wet, and the shiver that ran up my arm had nothing to do with temperature. She drew wet lines on the back of my hand, symbols I didn’t know but seemed to burn into my flesh. “The magic is within you,” she murmured. “It wants out. It wants to connect.”
Her fingers traveled to my wrist, where my pulse hammered under her touch, a wild drumming. She placed her other hand on my chest, directly over my heart. The pressure of her palm through the thin fabric of my shirt made me tremble. “Do you feel it pulsing? The magic?” she asked, her voice barely a breath.
I couldn’t answer. All I felt was the warmth of her hand digging into my skin, the scent of lavender and smoke enveloping me. She leaned forward, and her breath brushed my neck, hot and moist. “You’re trembling,” she whispered. “Are you afraid?”
“No,” I forced out. “I just…” I didn’t know what to call it. Desire? Hunger? It was as if something inside me screamed for her, for her closeness, her warmth, her scent. A drive stronger than any spell she had taught me.
She leaned back, but her hand remained on my chest. “Then let it happen. The magic shows us what we need. Trust it.”
I saw her gaze wander to my mouth, and my body reacted before my mind allowed it. I leaned forward, and our lips met—not demanding, but hesitant, searching. Her mouth tasted of mint and honey, sweet and invigorating. She parted her lips slightly, and I dove into her warmth, felt her tongue play against mine. A soft moan escaped me, and she reciprocated, her hand sliding from my chest to my neck, pulling me closer until there was no distance between us.
The Unshackling
The candles flickered, casting dancing shadows on the walls. I placed my hands on her shoulders, feeling the narrow bones beneath the thin silk. She wore nothing underneath—the fabric was smooth, and beneath it, the warmth of her skin seemed to burn through my fingertips. I pushed the fabric aside, and it fell from her shoulder, baring the curve of her breast. She didn’t pull away but arched toward me, a silent offer I couldn’t refuse.
I let my lips travel down her neck, the soft hollow above her collarbone, the tender spot where her pulse beat, fast and strong. She smelled of salt and herbs, and I wanted more. My hand found her breast, cupping it, the firm, warm fullness. Her head fell back, and she moaned softly as my thumb stroked the tip, which immediately hardened under my touch, erect and demanding.
“Yes,” she whispered. “Yes, just like that.”
I pulled her robe completely off, letting it slide from her shoulders until it pooled around her hips. She was naked before me, the candlelight painting gold on her skin, on her breasts that rose and fell gently with each breath. I couldn’t help but look at her, every line, every shadow. She allowed it, her eyes half-closed, lips slightly parted, as if offering herself to me without reservation.
“You too,” she said, and her hands found the hem of my shirt, pulling it over my head. Her fingers
